Performance Systems Manufacturing (PSM) specializes in manufacturing and marketing high performance parts for the Buick Gran Sport, Turbo-Regals and Grand Nationals, since 1995; and for the Dodge Ram Cummins trucks with their “Cool Power” cold air intake kits since 2004.  We have been in the cold air intake and induction business for over 10-years.

Performance Systems Manufacturing is unique as we take a straight-forward common sense approach to product design and manufacturing.  We don’t consider original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM’s) components to be totally inadequate, have inferior quality or are poorly designed.  Quite the contrary, the Big-3 have more resources in facilities, manufacturing equipment, materials, product development, testing and engineering ability than 99% of the aftermarket companies.  PSM has always taken the position that OEM components should be evaluated first for possible improvements to meet the elevated performance needs of our customers.  We start where the OEMs leaves off, rather than totally re-design the product, like our competitors with their expectation that they can build a better product.  A good example is the air intake testing performed by Diesel Power Magazine (October ’06 issue) where they dyno tested six aftermarket intake kits on a ’05 Dodge/Cummins Ram.  They found not one of the kits made more power than the stock air box.

Performance Systems Manufacturing designs their intake systems differently than most manufacturers by using Mass Air Flow engineering.  We know that increasing air density is just as important as reducing air flow restriction through the intake system in the quest of producing more power and reducing exhaust gas temperatures.  Our competition typically emphasis increasing air flow by advertises meaningless higher CFM numbers, but does nothing to address the negative effects their systems have on air density and resulting drop in horsepower.
