The tow bracket is a product we hope you will never have to use, but when you do, you will be glad you had one. This bracket saves your car from potential damage if it ever has to be towed for any reason.
Tow bracket is permanently mounted to the frame and bumper assembly and comes with a removable hook. The hook is attached to the bracket with a 90 degree turn on the hook as it enters the slotted hole in the bracket. The hook is located below the air dam there by eliminating any damage to the underside of the vehicle during recovery. The tow line or strap is attached to the hook and can not make contact with the air dam. Without the tow bracket mounted on your car, a tow truck operator’s normal method of vehicle recovery is by attaching “J”-hooks to both lower control arms and pulling the vehicle to and up their tilt bed platform. Little do they know or care that there exists fragile components that extend below the vehicle frame that makes contact with their hook and tow line. Damage to air baffles, intercooler scoops, and extended stock location intercoolers will result in additional repair costs to the car owner or insurance company. Stock air baffles and intercooler scoops are no longer available from GM so additional time and money will be spent locating and purchasing these used items. Tow bracket is designed to retrieve your vehicle from breakdowns on the street or strip and is designed to pull your vehicle onto car trailers and partially up commercial tilt bed platforms. Store the removable hook in the trunk until the need arises, then easily attach the hook in the tow bracket slot with a simple 90 degree twist on the hook. You are then ready to attach the tow line. It’s that easy.
Tow bracket is constructed from 3/16-inch steel, sandblasted and painted black. Bracket weighs 2 pounds and is rated to tow a car up a 30 degree ramp. Tow bracket is installed on the right side of the car.
